Crude Oil Treating

Field processing of crude oil and gas aims to separate the well stream into saleable products, recovering the maximum amount of each at the minimum cost. To meet this objective, processing must eliminate from the well stream undesirable contaminants such as water, salt and entrained solids. Most of the field processing equipment supplied by FASAM is employed removing contaminants and separating the incoming well stream into separate streams containing the optimum mix of constituents.

Crude Oil !st, 2nd & 3rd Stage Separators

Multiphase Separators

We provide a complete range of multiphase / 3-phase separators engineered to the specific application and location. The customization ensures that the design will efficiently and effectively separate inlet fluids into individual phases for further processing. Our 3-phase separators are typically fitted with effective inlet devices to absorb the momentum of the inlet fluid and a series of internal baffles for proper fluid distribution. In addition, coalescing elements, cyclones, and vanes demisting are used to minimize disturbance and aid separation.

Over the years, many separation internals of several designs has been deployed in the field. Production data and performance characteristics has become available on some designs and now a number of design correlation and correcting factors together with design limits are incorporated on our in-house programs.

Electrostatic Coalescer Skid

Electrostatic Coalescers

Crude oil generally contains water and solid contaminants. Prior to downstream processing of crude oil into commercial petroleum products, these contaminants must be removed. The separation process generally comprises two principles: dehydration and desalting, involving electrostatic coalescers in both upstream and downstream applications. In oilfields, the emphasis is generally on a combination of dehydration and desalting, whereas in refineries the focus is primarily on desalting.
Electrostatic Coalescers, a principal technology offered by FASAM, is the standard process to meet this need. FASAM has years of design experience in the design of dehydration by electrostatic dehydration. The company has specific experience in handling heavy crudes, waxy crudes, naphthenic crudes, and high BS&W streams.

Recently the company has developed a new innovative electrostatic grid system – a combination of tubular and plate electrodes. This system offers improvement in the oil carry-under so it minimizes environmental water problems and saves loss of product. Internals include proprietary grid electrodes, secondary treating of effluent water, and “high intensity” plate electrodes.

Crude Oil Heaters

FASAM offer a range of fired heater products including natural and forced draft Water Bath Heaters, and Direct Fired Heaters. Heaters can be designed and supplied according to API 12K and API 560 as well as standard industrial (non API) designs.
Heater-treaters are used for treating heavy crude oil which cannot be resolved into its constituents using ambient temperature. Over many projects, FASAM has acquired detailed experience in fired heaters including fired U-tube, water bath, oil bath and salt bath heaters, combustion management systems and burner designs. The heater can be a separate vessel to the treater or heating facilities can be installed in the front end of a single vessel, with treating section obviously being the back end.

Supply Options:
For direct supply to oil companies, the company will normally supply the entire installation as a complete assembly, ready to be installed and connected to external systems. Alternatively FASAM can offer specialised substems to other suppliers. In particular the company offers to supply fabricators of vessels the internal components they need to achieve the design objectives.
